Hi Everyone! This is a banner I made for a photographer who needed it for an upcoming 9month old sock monkey photo shoot. After searching the web, I found a lot of great patterns, but none were quite what the photographer wanted, so I decided to get my needle and yarn and whip up something. Then I thought, this would make a good blog post. I am just now starting up this blog and instead of going through all that downloading stuff for such a small pattern, I figured why not offer it up for free on here. So... here ya go! I hope you enjoy it and please feel free to share pics of your finished items with us.
B's Triangular Garland/ Banner
*Any Worsted Weight Yarn (4m): Any Color-
Cherry Red, Brown and White
*Crochet Hook size G (4.0mm)
*Yarn Needle (for sewing)
Make 12 total (4 of each color)
Rnd 1: With Color of choice, Ch 16, 1 sc in next ch from hook and 1 sc in each ch across,
DO NOT Ch 1, just turn work
Now you will be decreasing each round to the end:
Rnds 2- 15: sk the first sc that is below your hook and 1 sc in the next sc and each sc across,
repeat this for each round until you are left with 1 sc, then ch 1, and continueing to work around, 2 sc in next st and *1 sc in each st down to next corner, 2 sc in corner st*, and rep * to * all around the triangle
ending with a sl st to beg sc. FO.
Repeat Rounds 1-15 for each triangle,
Remember this garland/ banner uses 3 colors, and you need to make 4 of each color
This garland measures approx 60inches long.
If you would like to make a longer one just make more triangles!
Once all your triangles are finished, cut any color yarn about 5 – 5.5 ft ( around 65-70 inches) and thread it in yarn needle.
Holding one of the triangles on the wrong side, insert yarn needle through the back 2 loops of each sc, this will make a line only on the back of the triangle, so the banner will have a right and wrong side... Once you have it through and out the other end, go about an inch from the end of the triangle and just tie a little knot, and then continue weaving the yarn through the stitches of the next triangle, continue this, adding 1 triangle to it at a time, (kinda like stringing popcorn)
That's It You're Done!
